The First Moments: How It All Began

Hannah and Emily’s love story started with a shared passion for music. Although they knew each other from school, it wasn’t until 2012 that their paths crossed in a meaningful way. A spontaneous plan to attend a Paramore gig in Edinburgh, prompted by a mutual friend's Facebook post, sparked a friendship that soon blossomed into love.

“We both ended up buying tickets, and that spontaneous plan turned into a friendship, which quickly became something much more,” recalls Hannah.

Bridesmaids and flower girls gather outside with vibrant bouquets as the bride prepares to enter a classic vintage car. The scene is filled with joyful anticipation.

The Planned Proposal: A Love Story Set in Stone

Fast-forward ten years, Hannah and Emily were ready to take the next step. Hannah had been secretly dreaming about her wedding for years. When they visited potential venues, reality set in. Their visit to The Engine Works marked a turning point, especially when they learned there was just one date left for a tour.

“We booked the venue tour and decided we’d probably better get engaged!” laughs Hannah.

Their proposal was intimate and heartfelt. They chose their rings and exchanged them at their favourite spot, the Falls of Clyde at New Lanark. With the engagement official, they began planning their October 2024 wedding, giving themselves 18 months to bring their dream to life.

The Ceremony: Tradition Meets Modern Love

Hannah and Emily exchanged vows at the stunning Glasgow University Chapel. The breathtaking architecture provided a meaningful backdrop as both brides walked down the aisle with their fathers. Growing up Catholic, having Father Oliver from the Episcopal Church officiate the ceremony was deeply special.

“The religious ceremony was something we never thought we could have, so we really cherished every moment,” they shared.

Happy ever after.

The Reception: Creating Magic at The Engine Works

The reception took place at The Engine Works, a venue that ticked all their boxes with its flexible space and capacity for 250 guests. The couple emphasized personal touches throughout the venue, ensuring every element reflected their personalities.

“We come from big families, and it was a must that we could invite everyone we wanted,” says Hannah. “We wanted the day to be totally personal, which shaped every decision we made.”

Shimmering Disco Details: Personal Touches Everywhere

Their wedding theme was bold, fun, and unapologetically them. With a colour palette of vibrant pinks and blues, they incorporated nods to their favourite band, Paramore, and DIY decor that reflected their creative flair.

  • DIY Decor: Tassel bunting, a neon sign reading ‘The Foxes’, and handmade wedding stationery added charm and personality.

  • Music-Inspired Details: Menu cards shaped like vinyl records and a cake designed with tiny disco balls and candied cherries celebrated their love for music.

  • Personalized Elements: Their pets were featured on cocktail napkins, and signature drinks were named after their furry friends.

  • Interactive Fun: A Polaroid photo wall allowed guests to create a visual memory board of the day.

Aisle Style: Bridal Fashion with a Twist

Hannah wowed in an ethereal gown from Bijoux Bridal, featuring a deep v-neckline and flowing tulle that acted as a detachable veil. Emily stunned in a custom-embroidered pink suit adorned with foxes, flowers, and her surname boldly emblazoned on the back.

Paramore Party: A Night to Remember

Kicking off the reception, the couple shared their first dance to Paramore's ‘Still Into You’, complete with confetti cannons for an unforgettable entrance. The night continued with a Paramore medley, keeping the dance floor alive.

Guests enjoyed a variety of entertainment, including:

  • A Glitter Bar for sparkly makeovers

  • A Photo Booth to capture fun memories

  • A Temporary Tattoo Station for unique souvenirs

  • Food Trucks serving delicious pizzas and tacos

  • A Baby Guinness Bar, adding a fun twist to the evening drinks
