Natural Bridal Styling For Laid Back Brides
Photography by Hayley Benoit
I love the simplicity of this natural bridal shoot for laid back brides that was styled by Hannah Newman of Spark Alice Styling and shot by London Fashion Photographer, Hayley Benoit. The concept is centered around casual bridal inspiration in this micro-wedding day and age. Whilst some couples will choose to go all out for their intimate wedding, many will want to keep it low-key and party later when restrictions ease.
The styling and colour palette was simple and neutral to allow the crisp white dresses to really pop against the soft fabric backdrops and fresh florals.
The vintage style, ready-to-wear dresses are all from contemporary online retailers - who place an emphasis on slow fashion. Each white cotton dress has been softened with floral bouquets by Nari Lee @yinari__. Hannah selected the dresses because they work perfectly for a small wedding environment or elopement, the type of weddings that we are going to be seeing for a while now as we try to control the pandemic.
My favourite thing about simple wedding dresses is that they can be worn time and time again, not just for the wedding day. Reformation, and Staud both operate as sustainable brands and are a perfect choice for any laid back, eco-brides out there. but any one of these dresses could be restyled for your honeymoon, anniversary, or any special occasion thus making it sustainable in its own right. All you need to do is play around with your accessories, shoes, hair, and makeup!
The barely-there hair and makeup by Veronica Peters really works for the ‘less is more’ look that lends itself perfectly to natural brdes. Of course, it helps that model Ellie Lewis is naturally beautiful!
The team set up a micro-wedding sweetheart table to inspire laid back brides about how the rest of the styling could work. Crisp white crockery was provided by Whitehouse Crockery to echo the crisp white dresses. The florals stayed natural and pretty with pink roses to keep it soft and romantic and the candles from Fairholme Studio add a pop of colour and some height on the tablescape.
Are you going all out with your micro wedding or airing on the laid back side of things? We’d love to know!
